She is fearless… refusing to waste her time, or her potential. She wakes up knowing that life is a one-time performance, not a rehearsal. There is no “someday” drawer where she stores her dreams for later. Only this heartbeat. Only this lifetime.
There is something different about a San Lorenzo girl.
It’s the sun in her skin and the fire in her spirit. The way she walks, unquiet yet always with intention. Knowing the world will hand her very little… she builds, trains, falls, and rises. She wakes up everyday ready to take up space. Working hard for the dream, for the discipline, for the version of herself she is becoming.

International Women’s Day often celebrates the polished inspired version of us… the CEO, the founder, the athlete, the woman who “made it.”
…… Today, we shift the focus to the inner journey, the girl who absorbed life’s pains and joys and whose experiences shaped the woman she became. We celebrate the emotional resilience, self-awareness, and wisdom that define true alignment of ourselves.

Beneath the titles and tailored silhouettes is a quieter story. Our younger selves and inner voice are wired for survival and belonging. Our brains prioritize connection over logic. And when something painful happens like criticism, rejection, comparison, chaos, it doesn’t get analyzed, instead this gets absorbed.
As such, her younger nervous system is asking questions she doesn’t yet have words for: Am I safe? Am I loved? Do I belong? If the answers feel uncertain, she doesn’t blame the world. She blames herself: “I need to be different. I need to be quieter. I need to be better. I am too much. I am not enough.” These are not thoughts. They are identity seeds. And over time, they grow.

The girl who was told she was “too loud” becomes the woman who edits herself mid-sentence, apologizing for taking up space.
The girl who had to be strong becomes the woman who never asks for help.
The girl praised only for achievement becomes the woman whose worth is tied to performance.
The cuts don’t disappear. They reorganize into armor. And armor, worn long enough, feels like identity.

… here’s the secret that our San Lorenzo babes are learning (as the sun dips lower and ink dries on paper) the woman and the girl are not separate. The woman has learnt to guard and protect her younger self. Which often includes hiding her from the world. Shielding her innocence.
We see two versions of ourselves. The women and the girl. But internally, the girl remains the emotional blueprint. The brain repeats what it learned early.
Young minds lack the cognitive filters to separate someone else’s wound from their own worth.
Until one day she pauses and asks: Is this belief truly mine? Or is this something I inherited? Is this protection still serving me? Or is it outdated armor?

Those questions change everything. We become. We grow. And awareness is the filter the young girl never had.
When a woman speaks to her younger self gently and honestly, she updates the belief system.
“You are safe now. That wasn’t your fault. You don’t have to earn love. You are allowed to take up space.”
*….the girl absorbs everything because she is open, and the woman heals because she is aware. Identity is not fixed but formed and reformed across time.
The most powerful women are those who understand where their identity began and consciously choose who they continue to become.
This is integration.
Reclaiming her.

We asked San Lorenzo angels if she could sit beside her younger self, what advice would she give that wide-eyed eye girl?
★ Love yourself first, in a grounded, unshakable way. Love yourself enough to walk away from what shrinks you, to rest without guilt, to begin again with courage.
★ Chase your dreams, to chase what scares you even if you have no clear direction.
★ Do what makes you happy, no longer pleasing others at your own expense. Fill your cup with positivity.
★ You are stronger than you think. You are worthy without proving anything.
★ Have more fun. Dance more. Laugh louder. Be kind, especially when you don’t have to be.
★ And don’t rush the magic. Life is meant to be lived fully.

Today we don’t look back and wonder who she could have been.
She doesn’t play it safe, a San Lorenzo girl knows the game is real. She wants to release her inhibition, the freedom and autonomy to taste it all: love and pain, pride and shame, victory and failure.
When you speak kindly to your younger self, you become more powerful in the present. The girl you were and the woman you are are not separate, they are a team.
She meets her past with kindness, her present with clarity, and steps into her future with the full weight of who she truly is. And in embracing both her past and her present, she steps into herself, the life she was always meant to live.
Today, we honor your young self, and celebrate the woman you have become. Happy International Women’s Day.
